About this Movie

The story's inspiration came to me while on a Boston Ghost Tour hosted by my fellow writer, and dear spooky friend, Sarah Michelson! Among the eerie and unsettling topics discussed on the tour was how commonplace it used to be for people to be mistakenly buried alive, and how useless a lot of their efforts to avoid this proved to be.

Together, we quickly discovered the dark humor in the idea of this being a normal occurrence for people, something that wouldn't faze them. The witty, dry style of Monty Python only felt appropriate for these fancy colonial men as they bickered over their fallen friend, and from there, the stage was set.

We scouted locations all along coastal New England, ranging from historic blocks in Salem to the authentic burial hill in Plymouth, which was surprisingly passable as 1820's Boston from the hilltop. We ultimately landed a location on a  farmland property in Falmouth Massachusetts, chosen because of it's authenticity having been preserved in its original 1790's appearance.

​The only catch was that they didn't want us to dig a massive hole on their historic property, so we turned to a small field owned by the town of Plainville, currently being used as part of a disc golf course. A series of pickups were then shot around the coast of Newport, and several closeups in the yard outside my apartment! 

Some of the props used in our film can also be seen in the upcoming Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds movie Spirited! They filmed in Massachusetts, and had just donated a huge number of props to a local prop house when we were looking to dress our sets.

The movie has garnered some awards in the festival circuit, including the Silver Prize for short in the Dark Comedy Film Festival, Best Comedy at the Cult Critic Movie Awards, and A Nomination for Best Ensemble Cast in the Austin After Dark Film Festival!
